It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her debut and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and after that the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
